Standing 4 metres tall, these four bespoke Viking totem poles—representing Thor, Odin, Loki and Freya—were created for Kynren Storylands as part of its immersive Viking setting.

Each totem began as a full-scale polystyrene sculpt, with every carved Norse-inspired feature and timber grain carefully shaped by hand. Once the originals were complete, moulds were taken and durable fibreglass casts were produced for installation. The finishing process involved building up multiple layers of paint and specialist finishes to recreate the look of aged, weathered timber, giving each piece the character of a centuries-old carved monument while ensuring it was built to withstand the outdoor environment.

Topped with integrated fire baskets, the completed totems create dramatic focal points that reinforce the atmosphere and storytelling of the Viking experience.
